Apartment construction starting soon!

We have made great progress at Norwood Green this year. The Aldi supermarket has now been open for a few months, construction of the sold out Stage 1 townhouses is nearing completion, we’ve just released the highly anticipated Stage 2 4br townhouses and construction of the apartments is soon to commence. Please see our latest project update video below.

issue 2 of heart&soul is out now.

We received such positive feedback to our first publication last summer we decided to issue a winter edition that celebrates life in Norwood as the days become shorter and the nights cooler.

Winter is the time of year we retreat indoors. In some respects, winter arrived early as we were encouraged to stay home and help slow the spread of COVID-19. This edition of heart&soul celebrates home living.

At Norwood Green, it is fantastic to see the new heart of the inner east continuing to take shape. Construction of the Chapel and Appelbee townhouses is now well underway and we will shortly release the much anticipated Muller townhouses, which are the largest of the project. This month’s opening of the new ALDI Supermarket is also a major project milestone that sees us moving another step closer to realising the vision for our Norwood Green master-planned community. ♥

Norwood Green Christmas Event

The Norwood Green team is ‘merrily on high’ following our first ever Christmas at the Green community event.

The Display Centre and Warehouse was a hive of festive fun and fare last Sunday and we’d like to thank the wonderful local traders who braved the heat to serve delicious food and drinks.

The Christmas Market was a huge success with many locals snapping up gorgeous clothing and homewares.

It was fantastic to have the Triple M Rock Patrol on hand with cool drinks and giveaways too.

Congratulations to Susanna Cummins from St Morris who won the major prize – an iPad Pro – in our raffle.

Second prize – a gorgeous Christmas gift basket from Outdoors on Parade – went to Jonathan Draysey from Maylands.

The Norwood Green Display Centre will be open daily from 10- 4 over the holiday period except for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Green light for construction

CONSTRUCTION of a new Aldi supermarket at the $120 million Norwood Green development on Magill Rd is under way. Earthworks for the supermarket are in progress, with Sarah Constructions expected to commence building works at the site today. Meanwhile, almost all of the first stage release of townhouses at the residential and retail precinct have been sold, with particular interest in a range of two and three-bedroom homes, pictured. Norwood Green project director Daniel De Conno said apartment sales were also progressing well, with significant interest from the downsizer market. “Norwood Green is attracting people who currently live in the Norwood area, and those in surrounding suburbs, who are seeking a city-fringe lifestyle offering with the benefits of a master-planned precinct,” he said. “Our purchasers are excited to see the progress of the Aldi supermarket, which will be a shopping destination right at their doorstep and will complement the range of retail shops that will fringe the apartment buildings at street level.” Norwood Green is a joint project between Aldi and local developers Buildtec and Catcorp. The Aldi supermarket is expected to open in the second quarter of next year.

Display centre opens at Norwood Green

The Norwood Green Display Centre opened to the public on Saturday 8 June with an event that welcomed local residents and potential buyers.

The Display Centre, built within the last remaining structure of the historic Caroma building at 100 Magill Road Norwood, features a full-sized apartment living area, bedroom and bathroom and is complete with finishes and inclusions.

Demolition at the site is complete and Norwood Green Project Director, Daniel De Conno said the Display Centre will be the stylish new hub for the project.

“The Norwood Green Display Centre will give people a real sense of the design and style of the city-fringe lifestyle offering. We will be showcasing the best products and finishes to truly make Norwood Green a place for everyone.”

“These townhouses and apartments provide a rare opportunity for people to purchase new, high quality homes in Adelaide’s sought-after inner east with a new ALDI Supermarket and Norwood’s finest eateries and pubs within easy walking distance,” Mr De Conno said.

Mr De Conno said the Norwood Green development is tailor-made for people who want to live in Norwood and remain close to the city of Adelaide.

The project features a central park and piazza area, which has been designed as a community space and meeting place for Norwood Green residents and the local community.”

“There will be ample parking for residents and visitors by virtue of a full basement across the apartment building. With the development’s location on the doorstep of the East End and Kent Town, it is well suited to explore the ever-expanding neighbouring food culture.”

The site is being redeveloped by experienced retailers and developers, Aldi, Buildtec and Catcorp.

Friends of the project celebrated the milestone with a private event on Tuesday 28 May.

Visit the Display Centre now at 100 Magill Road, Norwood. Open daily from 10am – 4pm.

First look at ‘Norwood Green’, the $120m development to replace old Caroma factory with Aldi supermarket and townhouses

Eighteen townhouses will be completed by early 2020 at the new $120 million ‘Norwood Green’ development at the former Caroma factory on Magill Rd, and works will begin on a new Aldi supermarket at the 2ha “residential and retail precinct” by the middle of 2019.

The State Commission Assessment Panel approved the Norwood Green development at 76 Magill Rd last Friday, which includes the supermarket, seven-storey building with around 200 units and 33 two- and three-storey townhouses.

Supermarket works will form phase one of the construction, with demolition planned for early 2019 and works to be completed by early 2020.

However, an opening date has not yet been revealed.

Norwood Green development director Daniel De Conno said the first 18 of 33 townhouses would be delivered by early 2020 on Stephen St, followed by around 120 units in the second phase.

“It will be a rolling project over the next four to five years,” Mr De Conno said.

“The price points will range from just under $300,000 to $1 million, for first homeowners to downsizers.”

Mr De Conno said a showpiece of the development was “significant” open public space — roughly the dimensions of Moseley Square — which would underline the name, Norwood Green.

“It will be a new meeting place for Norwood,” he said.

“There will be a real transformation along Magill Rd, which is pretty cool.

“We are delighted to be a part of the team that will bring about the rejuvenation of the former Caroma site.

“This site has been an iconic part of the Norwood landscape and its redevelopment will provide a rare opportunity to buy a new townhouse or apartment within walking distance to the Parade and CBD.”

The development also includes a “town piazza” with retail shops and other open space areas.
